The Mercurys... ‘Red Hot Blues!’
formed in 1990 in the delta city of Brisbane, Australia where blues music has thrived since the 60’s. They’ve performed at major music festivals including: The East Coast Blues & Roots, Brisbane Jazz & Blues Fest, Brisbane Blues Fest, Purga Creek Fest, and Bay Dreaming Fest, where they have entertained crowds of up to 15,000 fans with their high energy music and professional, world class show.
The Mercurys perform classic blues by: B.B. King, Muddy Waters, Freddie King, Keb’ Mo’, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Eric Clapton, Jimi Hendrix, and Robben Ford, along with their own brilliant original blues songs.
The unique sound of The Mercurys is something to truly witness ‘LIVE!!’ with the big, soulful vocals of Tony Byrne; the dueling guitars of Tony and Craig Claxton along with Craig’s mighty fine vocals; and the driving rhythm section of Kevin Howard (Bass) and Phil Ross (Drums).
